The ANTIDIABETIC FOOD CENTRE (AFC) is a VINN Excellence Centre in
Research and Innovation at Lund University. The Centre is a joint
venture between Lund University, Region Skåne and industry partners. AFC
was established in 2007 and has a duration of 10 years. The total
investment is expected to exceed 22 MEuro.
To prevent diabetes through innovative food concepts by joint venture research and promotion of science-based business activities.
To be the leading centre of the development of research-based antidiabetic food concepts.
To prevent diabetes with food
Greta Jakobsdottir has been awarded for her research work in the AFC
project "Dietary fibre and effects on bile acids and cholesterol".
The
research grant (SEK 50 000) is distributed by Academia Gastronomica
Scaniensis and Sparbanksstiftelsen Färs & Frosta.
